How about some bacon ice-cream? Apparently it is powerful enough to destroy entire sections of consumer choice theory.
(Note: one of the contestants on last year's Top Chef made bacon ice cream and all the judges loved it.)

The use of bacon in all kinds of recipes has recently exploded. It's incredible! Lowly bacon has now been elevated to snobby, gourmet levels. It's happening a lot, actually, with lots of "low-brow" foods being combined with the "fancy" stuff. It's like we are in the Pop Art period for gourmet cooking. It's pretty cool, as much as it is weird.
BTW, that picture at the top of that bacon ice cream article is making me want to hurl.
Pretty terrifying, no?
