New TMBG

They Might Be Giants droppin' Rudolf Carnap on ya. Is logical positivism the go-to movement for "up with science" pop culture? Here's Carnap's entry in Wikipedia, for the curious.

As for the rest of the song, I can imagine the outrage is already bubbling.

Good song! Rowan liked it, too.

PENDANT NOTICE!

They quote early Carnap, before he rejected verificationism and moved on to his confirmation-theoretic approach to science. Interestingly, the descendants of logical positivists in their most empiricist form are anti-realists like Bas Van Fraassen, not realists that would claim that science is real. Scientism is probably the more appropriate label for a good deal of popular science, though that term is too often co-opted by anti-enlightenment loonarooos.

END PEDANTRY

We have TMBG's earlier DVDs: Here Come The ABCs and Here Come The 123s. We must complete the trilogy!
